First time fishing with Nannie!

This weekend Nannie took Drew fishing at Cameron Park Lake! They didn't end up catching anything, but he quickly became a pro at casting with his Lightning McQueen fishing pole. He said, he wants to go "again tomorrow and the next day and the next day!"

My most favorite smiley face Drew has ever drawn.

He's getting really good at pen control! Those eyes! That straight mouth! I'm so proud :)

Drew's sense of humor will work nicely on the ladies one day...he can thank me later.

Yes...Quite...Indubitably.

Getting to Know Drew...Getting to Know All About Drew...

I had to fill this out (click on them to make them larger) for Drew's new Preschool/Daycare he starts this Monday! I never really thought about these questions with Drew and thought it would be fun to share it with him one day so he can get a feel of the type of kid he was. This is a fantastic facility and just some of the things they do every day include: Write their names, Play alphabet puzzles, Bake bread, Play dress-up, Create their own songs, nature hikes, Walk in the rain, Get Messy, Clean up, Sculpt with play-doh, Paint, Color, Count things, Play action games, Read books, Dance, Do yoga...in other words, I wish I could go there! The teacher is a CA certified teacher who used to teach toddlers, preschoolers, and 8th grade middle schoolers. Drew is very excited to start, but probably not as excited as I am for him with all the stuff he gets to do!

Drew and his Two Favorite Ladies

Chloe Carrier (Darcie and John's little girl) turned 5 over the weekend and Drew and Ava were invited! Drew was fortunate (or unfortunate...depends on how you look at it) to be the only boy there but I don't think he minded in the least. They got to decorate cupcakes and eat their masterpieces and as their parting gift, Darcie had custom puffy paint shirts created (by the talented miss Lauren Winters: friend of Darcie and myself). Drew loved his Dinosaur shirt and was an even bigger fan that he wouldn't get dirty with all the cupcake decorating madness. He took a giant bite of his very little frosting, heavy on the sprinkles cupcake and noticing he got frosting on his lip, requested a towel asap. And then the smart devil decorated the cupcake AGAIN! Ate that top off and then decorated a third time! He's so smart!

Sacramento Train Museum Trip #??

I have definitely lost count with how many times we have been to the Train Museum but today was Grandpa Frank & Judy's first time ever! Of course, Drew acted like it was his first time and it was fun for Dad and Judy to experience it with him. After visiting the museum, we got to take our first ever horse drawn carriage ride through Old Sacramento and then we stopped to get lunch and candy. It was a great day and Drew is so blessed to have so many people in his life that love him :)

Drew, Slayer of Water Pumps.

Drew was itching to get out of the house this weekend so we decided to take him to the Museum next to the Folsom Chamber. There was gold panning (to which Drew politely said "no thank you" when he was told he might get wet trying to gold pan- it was pretty chilly that day) and there was this super cool water pump! After he learned he had to put a little elbow grease in it if he wanted to make it work, it quickly became his favorite part of the whole place! We managed to get him to move on from it, but we had to promise we would go back soon so he could pump some more water.

Date Night with Mommy!

Drew and I have a tradition of going to Hop Sings on Sutter Street once a week for Wonton Soup and steamed rice...although Drew's idea of soup is to "not have stuff in it. When he's older he will eat soup with the stuff." so it's just broth. He also got a good fortune tonight! Check it out (oh the "tuff guy" road rash on his eye came from a nasty fall down a slide at his daycare the other day)...

The Two Most Important Pieces of Ceramic I Own

Last Wednesday, we took Drew to Color Me Mine in Folsom to paint some masterpieces for me! (They are a art studio that provides the pre-made ceramic pieces and you paint them with glaze then you come back a week later to pick up your finished items.)As you can tell from the finished product, Drew took his time and really did paint each piece with care. I love them!!

The Oldest 3 Year Old I know...

I swear he's really a 90 year old man. What kid sleeps with his legs crossed like this??
