Drew's Birthday Getaway

We look more excited to be going than our kiddos at this point!
For Drew's main birthday this year we opted for a mini vacation instead of a huge party. Grandpa Frank and Judy treated us to an epic one to Santa Cruz where we saw the Mystery Spot, Beach Boardwalk, Jelly Belly Factory and hung out at the Nut Tree!

At the Mystery Spot

The kids minds were blown with all the optical illusions

Grandpa Frank liked it too

This was on the wharf next to the Boardwalk

We saw a ton of seals

At the Boardwalk before we got our tickets to ride some rides

The games are my favorite part

Two "not tired" kiddos on the way home. Thanks for the great time Grandpa Frank & Judy!

Baby Brother 3D Pics

Still just as amazing as when we did this with Andrew! We decided on the name Leonidas (we will call him Leo for short). The kids were so excited to be there to see the 3D ultrasound!

Make a wish!

At the bottom of our driveway are these HUGE "wish weeds" so of course, we had to pull over and use them up :)

6th Birthday Party Madness!

I designed his invite and got to inviting!
This year we really wanted to go somewhere fun (Santa Cruz to be exact) as opposed to having a huge party like we have done every year. I asked Drew's teacher and she was down for having the party at school where his friends would already be! Let the party commence!

His How to Train Your Dragon cake I made

Sotirios, auntie Darcie and I were up SUPER late the prior night making all these Viking hats and shields for all the kiddos

As promised, I took the day off being lunch lady and stayed in his classroom alllll day :)

The class looked SO cute all Viking'd out

Dragon Trainers: Jack, Drew and Stella

I asked my mother in law to bring Drew some In-N-Out for his special birthday lunch

I made cupcakes for all the kids and we decorated them like monster dragons!

We also made dragon bookmarks

The kids busted through a pinata

Time to eat some cupcakes!

My mother in law got Drew a mouse for his birthday present! It was promptly named "Kicks Mousie Dayle Dent"

Blowing out the candles at the after school party

We decided it would be best to open all the presents at home since we were running out of time at the party. He was spoiled!

After Sotirios got home from work, we met up with Grandpa Frank and Judy and went to Chuckie Cheese to play games and followed it up with a smoothie at Leatherby's Icecream shop!

To my boy on his 6th year of birth...

This day 6 years ago marks the absolute happiest and most fulfilling day of my existence. I gave birth to this little human that unbeknownst to me at the time, would help shape who I was to become in life. All the mental and physical sacrifice of pregnancy and labor was more than worth this...this honest to god, true love felt between mother and her child. A selfless love I didn't even know existed in this world. A love that got me through the darkest and most challenging days I have known and a love that gave me strength to make some of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make and never saw coming. I am so insanely proud of the thoughtful, loving and seriously funny boy he has grown to be and I look forward to knowing the same amazing man he will become.

Thank you for keeping my heart happy and full, constantly giving me a slice of humble pie (because every parent should be kept on their toes and not get too comfortable in their abilities), and thinking my job as the school lunch lady is the coolest thing ever. Always remember my boy, you are my most favorite part of every single day and I love you more than sunflower seeds and mint chip ice cream. -Mommy
