Trip to the Nut Tree & Solar Eclipse

We finally got to spend time with Ava on a Sunday so we decided to do something fun! We started driving and saw the Nut Tree. It's a heck of a lot more fun now then when we were kids so we stopped to check it out. Upon turning into the driveway, Drew saw the awesome train and was very excited and Ava saw the Merry-Go-Round and was then very excited. We got tickets to ride the train first and then the Merry-Go-Round. After that fun, we all got smoothies at the Jamba Juice and then headed to the Yolo Fruit Stand for some local fruits and veggies! After that, we headed back into town for lunch with Grandpa Frank, Judy & Auntie Bre at Fernando's mexican restaurant. When we got home from that, it was about time to watch the eclipse! We stacked up our glasses (about 9 pairs) and took a peek (uncle Eric took the pin-hole-box-on-his-head approach). Towards the end of the eclipse, our neighbor came over with his welding mask so we could get a better view. The kids loved to see the sun look "like the moon"! What a fun day! Here are the pics :)

Last Shopping Trip with Auntie Bre

My sister, Breanne, is moving to Texas for her boyfriend and school the day after graduation this coming Saturday the 26th, so this was our last opportunity for a while to spend the day shopping with her. My mom Cheryl, myself, Drew, Bre, Aunt Jill, and cousin Shannon all headed to the Galleria for a fun day of eating at the Cheesecake Factory and shopping.

I'm One Lucky Mommy!

When I picked up Drew today at school, he had these two beautiful gifts waiting for me as his Mother's day gift this year. He wrote all the letters on the card himself and the necklace was beautiful and you better believe it was firmly placed around my neck immediately...and yes, I will be wearing it to work as well! I'm so proud of the boy Drew is so quickly growing up to be and I am absolutely honored for him to call me 'mommy'.

For Drew's birthday, Brad bought him his very own Camelbak so he could stay hydrated on his bike rides! Drew has always fancied his dad's Camelbak so it was only fitting to get him his own :) Good gift idea, dad!

Big Man is 4!!

I say this every year, but it's nuts how fast time is going by! I'm just not ready for him to grow up. But alas...

Drew picked Finn McMissile for his birthday theme and I thought "Secret agent" would be so fun for his friends!! Thankfully, this year, I planned ahead so everything didn't sneak up on me (plus I wanted it to be an extra awesome party!) Here's a couple of pics from the party! After this party, he got to have a whole other party with his dad at La Placita with their side of the family. Drew was POOPED when he got home!
